John Postad 1 Juli, 2019 Rapport Share Postad 1 Juli, 2019 My Volvo Penta 4.3GL runs fine and smooth...... at least.....if it will start. And that is not the case, neither cold or warm! I start up as followed: Note: Ignition is on all the time 1 - crank engine for about 3 seconds to build up fuel pressure, 2 - move to Wide open Throttle 2 times and the 3rd time leave the throttle a bit forward 3 - crank the engine several times, but sadly it won’t start running. here is what I checked, fuel pump is new ok, there is full fuel pressure on the carb inlet. electric choke fully functional, idle screw (2x) adjusted the preload injectors (right underneath the choke valve) are clean and open while moving throttle lever to WOT, theres is no ”preload” of fuel. here is what I did, Toke off the flame arrestor and sprayed fuel directly into the carburator, (disk washer bottle, 2 squeezes) Cranked the engine and it fires up in an instant, runs smooth and no vibrations. Everything seems okay. Test run engine, no problems occured. stopped warm engine, waited for 30 seconds..... and cranked the engine. Engine does not not start (grrrrrrr.....) put in some fuel from the top........ fires up in an instant. everytime I want to start I have to ”preload” manually first, very annoying. Anyone who can give me some advice. pls. assist thanx, John Citera Länk till kommentar Dela på andra webbplatser
Gasglad Postad 1 Juli, 2019 Rapport Share Postad 1 Juli, 2019 Sounds like your accelerator pump for preloads are not working properly. I have never owned a VP 4,3 but a Merc 4,3 and I guess they are pretty much the same. Probably some linkage issue on the carb or a membrane. Take your Carburator to a someone that knows what his doing ang get it fixed is my suggestion. Citera Länk till kommentar Dela på andra webbplatser
