Hej  som utförare av flertalet av dessa manövrar (dock ingen i New York, har lyckats landa alla gånger  ) så är det sällan dramatiskt i styrhytten, men jag har full förståelse för att det kan kännas obehagligt som passagerare.

Svarar gärna mer utförligt om någon är intresserad. /Thomas.

Det absolut vanligaste är att sikten är för dålig, och att man då inte ser det antal lampor som är stipulerat i respektive bolagsmanual. Sedan förekommer det att banan är blockerad, antingen av att ett fordon gör en inspektion och inte hinner av, eller att en flygmaskin utav en eller annan anledning är på banan. Finns såklart andra anledningar som tekniska orsaker eller att inflygningsfarten är för hög, men den gemensamma nämnaren är att befälhavaren gör bedömningen att en säker (safe) landning inte kan genomföras.

Florida approves law to protect state’s boating industry

New legislation limits local restrictions and reduces regulatory hurdles

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1388, the Boater Freedom Act, into law this week. The legislation aims to safeguard the rights of boaters by limiting local restrictions and reducing regulatory hurdles.

Under the Boater Freedom Act, local governments will no longer be able to impose bans on gas-powered vessels.

The bill also prohibits random vessel safety inspections unless there is probable cause and directs the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to implement a five-year safety inspection decal program tied to vessel registration.

“Florida is the boating and fishing capital of the world, and the Boater Freedom Act will ensure that this remains the case,” said DeSantis.

The law ensures that boaters who choose gas-powered vessels are protected from restrictions imposed by local activist groups. At the same time, it maintains statewide regulations governing wake zones, manatee protection areas, and seagrass preservation.

The legislation ends the practice of conducting vessel inspections under the guise of safety compliance checks without probable cause. Instead, the FWC will collaborate with tax collectors to issue a ‘Florida Freedom Boater’ decal at the time of registration. This decal will signal to law enforcement that a vessel meets safety standards, allowing for more streamlined enforcement and fewer interruptions for responsible boaters.

The bill fulfils a proposal introduced by the governor in February as part of his broader initiative to support boater freedom in Florida.

Governor DeSantis also signed House Bill 735, which allocates additional funding through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission for public boat ramps, marina development, and parking infrastructure.

The goal is to improve access to Florida’s waterways and further solidify the state’s reputation as the boating and fishing capital of the world.

 Nu känner jag inte er, men får gå på vad du skriver. Du (och även Carina) verkar vara  extremt sociala människor och gillar att det händer saker hela tiden och då är nog dom flesta svenskar lite halvsega för er (tror jag själv tillhör dessa halvsega😁)

Tyckte du skrev tidigare "verkar som alla sitter hemma" och det stämmer nog.

Let me present to you a rare individual who has been absolutely integral in my success as a racing driver -and to life after racing: 
A.J. Foyt. A true American hero and living legend —if there ever was one. 

To this day no one has more race wins in IndyCars than AJ. Only three other drivers equal his 4 Indianapolis 500 wins. He also won Daytona 500, Le Mans 24 hrs and….well, it’s easier to say what he didn’t win. 

AJ became my “racing dad” when he signed me. An incredible amount of knowledge and “seat of the pants feel” for the full picture in one man alone. “Let the others run —we’re staying in the garage. When the wind ruffles the leaves on the tree in turn one like today —there’s only risk and no reward” (practice at Indianapolis in 1999). When the time came his cars and team were on point. We won. The Championship. The most races in a season. The Indianapolis 500. 
We got invited to the White House. The White House. A boy from the woods in Sweden…But AJ was a republican. “I ain’t taking no drivers, car -or team- up to that @*#¨”@ Clinton”. 

I experienced the highest of highs with AJ. I experienced the bittersweet: Tears were rolling down my chins when I told AJ I had decided to go and make a name for myself in the competing IndyCar series -CART. 

My band recorded “Legend of the Speedway” to his honour. Because he is. 

After 3 decades he remains my racing dad, and good friend.
